I am currently working on a project entitled
2016 - Irish Identity
A visual response to the 1916 Rising and an awareness of our history and environment and its
role in shaping developing the identities of the youth of Ireland 100 years on.
In this project entitled ‘ 2016-Identity', my aim is to start a process of awakening the artistic imagination of a group of Dublin teenagers and enhance their awareness of how they can express themselves visually. The concept of this project is based on awareness of our history as a nation and its role in shaping developing the identities of young people today. The anticipated result is to raise their self-confidence by encouraging them to communicate their ideas and feelings about themselves to a wider audience.
It is also our hope that as a result of the artistic process involved, that this group of teenagers would be made aware of it, engage with it and where possible harness their creative potential to think independently and change for the better.
